One of the main goals of SGXcafe is providing a portfolio management tool. It is also one of the most popular features in SGXcafe. When I added the ability for one account to have multiple portfolios, it was quickly adopted and used by hundreds of users.

However, at that time, you could not look at individual portfolio for the portfolio reporting tab and a few users requested to have this feature added. I am happy to share that now you will be able to view reports of individual portfolios.

Furthermore, SGXcafe will now display the warnings that occur during the generation of reports. For now, there are two types of warnings:
1) end of day data not found for stocks you entered, as this would adversely affect the computation of portfolio values
2) when you try to sell stocks that you do not own

Hopefully, these additions will make SGXcafe better in helping you manage your portfolio. Do continue to share with me how I can make SGXcafe better for you.

Happy investing!

Help Shape SGXcafe's Future
Note: There is a one-question survey at the end of the post, and your input is appreciated. Today, I am writing because SGXcafe has reached a crossroad. You might know that SGXcafe started out as a personal project, but I made it available for public use when I thought it might help other small retail investors like myself invest better. However, SGX recently contacted me and said that SGXcafe needs ...

Future Yield
At the moment, one of the most highly voted features in Friends of SGXcafe is "Use various known methods to compute the intrinsic value of stocks". As much as I want to do it, it is not easy to compute the real "intrinsic" value of stocks, assuming it even exists. All methods that I have found require subjective opinions of the future. And often, small deviations in assumed values influence the results ...
