Dividends Override was introduced to SGXcafe during the time when one account can hold only one portfolio. Soon after, I introduced the support for
Multiple Portfolios in SGXcafe. However, Dividends Override was not updated to support Multiple Portfolios. This mistake potentially caused some mistakes in computing the total dividends you have collected if you happen to hold the same stock in different portfolios.
I have already fixed this bug and each override will be assigned to a specific portfolio from now on. All current Dividends Override have been by default assigned to the "default" portfolio, so if you currently have Dividends Override and do not want it to be assigned to the "default" portfolio, please update them to the correct portfolio
here. My apologies for this bug, and please let me know if you need more support regarding this issue. I also appreciate user
jonong for alerting me to it.
At the same time, I also took the chance to make several improvements related to Dividends.
1) Now, if you filter by stock in the
Dividends Collected tab, you can see a yearly summary of Dividends received for that particular stock.
2) In the
Portfolio Report, you can now see the breakdown of the projected dividends.
3) You can now also filter all sub-tabs under
Portfolio Dividends by a particular portfolio.
I would like to thank all users for reporting bugs and requesting features. SGXcafe is better because of you :)
- Hi Evan, It really is good to see you reacting and modifying the site from comments received. SGXcafe is becoming one of the best investing sites on the net. Great work !

A Course All Investors Should Attend
I have always wanted to attend the Value Investing Mastery Course (or VIMC) by BigFatPurse as I have heard many good things about it. However, as I am working and living in Tokyo, there was no opportunity for me to attend. Luckily for me, they recently released eVIMC, which is the e-learning equivalent of the popular VIMC. Personally, I have always preferred e-learning over physical lectures as it ...
Analyze and Compare Stocks (using SGXcafe)
Analyze Every investor has his/her favorite set of metrics that they look at when performing stock analysis and valuation. Therefore, it is difficult to decide which metric to display in SGXcafe, hence most of the time, I simply choose to display information that I am personally interested in. But I want to make SGXcafe more customizable so that it can provide better value to everyone. Incidentally, ...
Bull or Bear?
"No price is too high for a bull or too low for a bear" - an old Wall Street proverb It is a known fact that investors can be over-optimistic or over-pessimistic at times. When a series of good news happens, investors switch into the optimistic mode, often over-optimistic, and significantly bid up the price of a stock ditching any rational pricing theory whatsoever. Any high price will be justified ...
