A few weeks ago, I released an
iOS app for SGXcafe. Naturally, Android users started to request an app as well. However, just like it was for iOS, I do not have any experience with Android development either.
Hence, I jokingly requested a friend from work to build the SGXcafe Android app for me and to my utmost surprise, he showed me a first version the next day. Of course, SGXcafe mobile apps are very simple to build if you have experience with iOS or Android, but still, it was time he could have better spent elsewhere. So thank you very much, Artur!
Which gave me an idea; why not let others develop the iOS and Android apps of SGXcafe since it is difficult for just one person to do everything on top of my full-time job. Therefore, I am now officially inviting all iOS and Android developers to join me in building the future of SGXcafe. Unfortunately, I am unable to provide any form of monetary compensation since SGXcafe is still nowhere near profitable due to the
heavy licensing costs. However, this could be a platform where you showcase your skills and add to your portfolio by building something that provides value to the 20,000 investors that access SGXcafe monthly (according to Google analytics at this point of writing and the trend has been rapidly increasing). If you are interested, please
message me privately.
Download the Andriod app here!
Please enjoy the Android app, and as usual, I welcome any feedback.

APAC Stock Information Now On SGXcafe
When I was licensing data, the data provider insisted on selling me the information for APAC region as a package instead of just Singapore alone. Was it so that they could charge me a higher price? In any case, seeing as I have the information, I have been wanting to organize and share those data. Today, I am happy to share that you can now find information of stocks listed in APAC exchanges such as ...
Updates: Visualization, Watchlist Limit, and Renamed Stocks
A quick update on a few tweaks around SGXcafe. One of the top feature requests recently in SGXcafe is having more visualization. Specifically, the ability to see at a glance how much dividends you receive monthly (against other years) historically and pie charts to see your portfolio's breakdown by sector, industry and companies. Feel free to suggest more if there is other information you'd like to ...
Improved Portfolio Reporting
One of the main goals of SGXcafe is providing a portfolio management tool. It is also one of the most popular features in SGXcafe. When I added the ability for one account to have multiple portfolios, it was quickly adopted and used by hundreds of users. However, at that time, you could not look at individual portfolio for the portfolio reporting tab and a few users requested to have this feature added. ...
