Intel announced that it would discontinue the development of certain GPU products. While it might seem like more bad news for this semiconductor giant, Intel gives an excellent reason for the changes.

Intel (INTC -0.38%) is focusing on simplifying its roadmap to focus on making significant generational performance leaps, but this may give an advantage to its competitors Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 2.44%) and Nvidia (NVDA 3.65%).
