Migrating to Custom Assets

M

In the previous article, we promised to create a tool for users to easily migrate from Other Assets to Custom Assets. Here are the steps to easily migrate.

  1. Go to this page on desktop
  2. Choose the asset to migrate.
  3. Choose the portfolio to migrate the transactions to
  4. Choose the symbol for the asset
  5. [Optional] Add a website for the asset, if any

Tip: We highly encourage users to create a separate portfolio to house all Custom Assets.

Note: Even after migration, the asset will not be deleted from Other Assets (so that you can check that everything is properly migrated over).

As always, feel free to reach out if you feel any issues or have any feedback.

Happy investing!

  • Hi Evan,

The fees are not properly moved to the Custom Assets. Based on what I see, fees entered in the Other Assets section gets into the share price when I moved it into Custom Assets.

Also, is there a way to remove unwanted custom symbols? I deleted some ported assets by deleting the associated transactions but found that the symbols are not deleted because the system says it already existed when I wanted to retry the porting process.

    • Hi there,

      1) Let me investigate the fees migration issues more. I believe I have fixed it yesterday or the day before because another user brought it up. Can you try again? Thanks.

      2) Sorry, you can only delete the Custom Assets using https://m.stocks.cafe which is optimized to be used in both Mobile and Desktop.

      Thanks,
      Evan

      • Hi Evan,

Could we also retain the bulk upload function for prices? The m.stockscafe site can only do single day price upload.
