Aberdeen Chile Fund, Inc. (the Fund), formerly The Chile Fund, Inc., is a closed-end, non-diversified management investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek total return, consisting of capital appreciation and current income through investments in Chilean equity and debt securities. The Fund's investment advisor is Credit Suisse Asset Management, LLC. CELFIN CAPITAL Servicios Financieros S.A. serves as the Fund's Chilean sub-advisor. Bear Stearns Funds Management Inc. serves as the Fund's United States administrator. Celfin Capital S.A. Administradora de Fondos de Capital Extranjero serves as the Fund's Chilean administrator. The Fund purchases or writes exchange-listed and over the counter (OTC) put and call options on securities indexes. It invests in a range of sectors, including industrial conglomerates, independent power producers and energy traders, beverages, chemicals, commercial banks, diversified telecommunications, electric utilities, and water utilities.
